Burgers, a quintessential American dish, consist of a ground meat patty, typically beef, served in a bun with various toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. Originating from early 20th-century America, burgers have become a global staple, celebrated for their versatility and ease of customisation. They reflect a blend of cultural influences and have evolved into a beloved fast-food and gourmet item worldwide.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup Water, boiling

  • 1 x 200 g IMANA Chakalaka Flavour Super Soya Mince Packet

  • 1 cup Oats

  • 1 Onion, grated

  • 1 Chilli, finely chopped

  • 2 tsp Curry Powder

  • 1 Egg, lightly beaten 

METHOD

  1. Mix 1 cup of boiling water with the Imana Chakalaka Flavour Super Soya Mince packet. Allow the mixture to stand for 30 minutes.

  2. Add the oats, onion, chilli, curry powder and egg to the mixture. 

  3. Shape mixture into burger patties (you may need a little bit of flour for this).

  4. In a shallow pan, fry the patties on both sides until crispy. 

  5. Serve on a burger bun with the toppings of your choice!
