Cottage pie, a classic British dish, features minced meat cooked with vegetables and topped with a layer of creamy mashed potatoes. Originating in the 18th century as a way to use up leftover meat, it has evolved into a beloved comfort food dish, offering a hearty and satisfying meal. The dish reflects traditional British culinary practices and remains a staple in many households.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 x 200 g IMANA Mutton Flavour Super Soya Mince Packet

  • 4 cups Water

  • 1 cup Frozen Peas

  • 5 Cooked Potatoes, mashed

  • 100 g butter, melted

METHOD

  1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC.

  2. Prepare the IMANA Mutton Flavour Super Soya Mince packet as per the make-up instructions. 

  3. Stir in the frozen peas. 

  4. Place in a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes.

  5. Brush with the melted butter and bake for 20 minutes or until the mash is golden brown.
