Mozambique Peri-Peri Chicken Strips

A HERITAGE WE CAN BE PROUD OF...

When the African Birds Eye Chilli was discovered, a marinade was made with chilli, garlic, vinegar, paprika and other ingredients. This was added to different dishes and used to give chicken a spicy, wholesome flavour.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Tbsp Oil

  • 300g Chicken breasts, cut into strips

  • 1 Onion, chopped

  • 200ml Cream

  • 200ml Water

  • 1 Red peppers, sliced

  • 1 Yellow peppers, sliced

  • 1 IMANA Mozambique Peri-Peri Cook-in-Sauce

METHOD

  1. Fry the onion for 5 minutes in the oil. 

  2. Add the chicken strips to the pan and fry for 5 minutes.

  3. Add the sliced peppers and continue to fry.

  4. Add the water and the cream into the pan, stir in the IMANA Mozambique Peri-Peri Cook-in-Sauce powder and bring to a boil.

  5. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.

  6. Best served with Basmati rice.
